One of the things I’m most excited to share with this community is The Birthday Project.
Over the past few weeks, I gathered supplies, assembled birthday kits, and prayed over every single one before it was packed. Last Friday, those first 24 birthday kits were delivered to our local food bank.
Each kit includes everything needed to make and decorate a birthday cake, along with a birthday card and a few extra touches to help make someone’s special day a little brighter.
This project has never been about the cake itself. It’s about reminding families that they are seen, loved, and not forgotten. My prayer is that God uses something as simple as a birthday celebration to encourage the hearts of those who receive these kits.
This is just the beginning.
Lord willing, this will become an ongoing outreach through Unpolished but Called, with more kits being assembled and delivered throughout the year.

When I started Unpolished but Called, I knew growth wouldn’t happen overnight. But if I’m honest, I thought I’d be a little further along by now.
These past months have been full of building.
The podcast has grown. The Bible study was published. The Birthday Project became a reality. The website has expanded. New platforms have been added. Behind the scenes, there’s been a lot of late nights and a lot of learning.
Most of that work isn’t flashy. It’s the kind that happens one faithful step at a time.
I’m choosing to believe those small steps matter.
